Growing children who travel life with God

Children are an important part of the life and ministry of Forest Brook. In partnership with parents, we seek to create a dynamic, fun, safe, loving, spiritually-enriching environment that will provide young children (nursery to grade 6) with the opportunity to discover God, experience faith and learn the life-guiding principles of the Bible. Children are cared for by a team of well-trained, committed adults who serve as positive role models of what it means to be a follower of Jesus. All leaders have completed a screening process in compliance with our Keeping Children Safe policy.

Growing children who travel life with God

“And whoever welcomes a little child like this in my name welcomes me.” Matthew 18:5

Sunday Children’s Worship

Every Sunday morning at 10:00am, children (Kindergarten through Grade 6) participate in their own high-energy, interactive worship program that includes music, media-driven curriculum, games and small group gatherings, that communicate biblical truths in ways that will impact kids well beyond their time at church on Sunday morning. Age-appropriate curriculum reflects the vision and objectives of the larger community of faith.

Nursery/ Preschool Care

Nursery care is provided for infants/toddlers aged newborn to 36 months. The large, bright, fully-equipped nursery is located on the main level just outside the sanctuary, while toddlers (18 months) join the pre-school area down in the lower level. Safety is a top priority and security procedures permit only the person who checks the child in to check him/ her out of the nursery or pre-school area. A team of loving care givers is dedicated to nurturing each child physically, emotionally and spiritually. Children learn about God’s love for them through stories, songs and fun activities designed just for little ones.

Summer Day Camp

Every summer FBCC children are encouraged to reach out and invite their friends to join them at the annual Forest Brook Day Camp. This full day community-friendly program, currently held during the second week of August, offers children a fun-filled biblical learning experience and elective activities that will enrich their lives and broaden their horizons.

Grade 6 Small Groups

A special preteen small group ministry for 6th grade students help to facilitate their transition from the children's ministry into the youth ministry. Bi-weekly get-togethers include topical discussions and a variety of activities designed to build relationships and grow pre-teens in their faith walk. Gender specific groups meet bi- weekly starting in January.

Baby Dedication

A baby dedication is a commitment to raise and nurture a child according to God’s word and God’s ways through teaching, example, discipline and prayer. This pledge of the parents to commit themselves and their child to God includes providing every oppor-tunity and encouragement to the child to make their own personal commitment to being a well- rounded Christian individual as God intends him/her to be. The congregation also promises to support and pray for the family as they raise their child. Baby dedications are scheduled during the Sunday morning service several times a year.
