History

Forest Brook Community Church is a Christian community of faith founded on the principles of Acts 2:42-47 and has grown as a result of the amazing grace of God working through his church. It consists of "living stones"; that is people who have individually come to know and follow Jesus Christ as their supreme guide in life.

Forest Brook is a welcoming and caring community of Christians, committed to worship, fellowship, discipleship, service, mission and extending the kingdom of God in the local community and throughout the world.

What began with a small group of dedicated people worshiping in a local public school back in 1981 has now grown into a thriving congregation of close to 1,000 men, women, youth and children. We opened a new chapter in our history In September of 1986 with the opening of the 7,500 sq. ft. "Forest Brook Bible Chapel" in Pickering. An 8,000 sq. ft. addition was later completed in February 1995. As Forest Brook continued to grow in size and ministry, the need for still larger premises became apparent. After much prayer, planning, and sacrificial giving, the congregation adopted the name Forest Brook Community Church and officially moved into its current 45,000 sq. ft. facility in the heart of Pickering Village here in Ajax in September 2005.

We give glory to God for his goodness and faithfulness throughout the years. We recognize that God has built this church (cf. 1 Corinthians 3:5-9) and we continue to follow His leading into the future. We now have several paid staff, strongly believe in shared leadership and have seen the church grow as a result of every member being involved in serving one another and our community.
