Service Ministries

Preparing people to serve in the right way for the right reasons

Forest Brook believes in “every member ministry”, which means that every Christian who chooses Forest Brook as their church home has a role to play in the health, function and mission of the church. The Bible teaches that every member should learn about their own spiritual gifts and then faithfully exercise them in some form of service so that together we may impact our world. (cf Romans 12:4-8)

Spiritual Gifts Workshop

God has blessed each believer with special abilities - spiritual gifts. Like other presents, it is impossible to fully appreciate and make use of our spiritual gifts until they have been opened. Twice a year Forest Brook conducts workshops to help people discover what gifts, talents and strengths God has blessed them with and where they might be utilized effectively for the good of the entire church body. Participants discuss the role that personality, experience and passions play in shaping us for service, and explore the Biblical teaching on this subject with respect to how it applies to Christians today.

Barnabas Team

Barnabas was a devoted disciple known for his gift of encouraging others. The Barnabas Team is committed to encouraging and helping everyone at Forest Brook find a meaningful place to serve. God never calls someone to do something that He does not first equip and empower him or her to do. With this in mind, trained team members are available to visit with members to discuss their background and personal interests and suggest where they might contribute to the life and ministry of Forest Brook and God’s Kingdom. To arrange such a visit, contact Kevin Armstrong at the church office, 905.427.3442 ext. 106.
