FAMILY MINISTRY

Family ministry is close to our hearts here at Forest Brook. We work hard to provide programming for our kids and youth which teaches them more about Jesus and His incredible love for them and guides them into their own discipleship journey.  We also work to equip parents and grandparents to be able to engage and dialogue with their kids and grand-kids on faith matters.  We also desire to be a "whole village" kind of church, that has many leaders, mentors and other interested adults who love to walk alongside our young people.

Our Church is "Orange"

If we symbolize the home with the colour red for the love and heart that the home provides and if we symbolize the church with yellow for shining the light on who Jesus is, we see a powerful combination in the lives of the next generation.

This “greater impact together” we symbolize by the colour…. Orange!

We encourage families to invest in their homes while connecting their kids and teens to the powerful message of The Kingdom of God through this church community.

We want the next generation to have strong, resilient and thoughtful Faith, leading the church into the future with the confidence and power of the Holy Spirit.

Orange October

Each fall as the greens of summer change to the yellows, reds and orange, we, as a church, turn our attention to the next generation and the incredible impact that the combination of the home and the church can have on our children and youth; helping them to grow, mature and discover more and more about who they are and who they are in Christ.

We call it “Orange October” to remind us that these two spheres – the home and the church – are a powerful force in the life of a person when they work in combination.

CHILDREN'S MINISTRY - Sunday mornings

The Children's Ministry program values growing together (discipleship through relationship), learning together (telling God's story to foster deeper relationship with Jesus), and belonging together (fostering belonging through inclusive community.)

Preschool

AGE 2 - Senior Kindergarten

Little ones  explore stories of God's love through song, fun and activities designed just for them.

Nursery

Newborn - 23 months

Our nursery is staffed and ready to welcome your babies and toddlers during Sunday gatherings! Care is provided for infants and toddlers in a large, bright, fully-equipped nursery located on the main level just outside the sanctuary,

Child Dedication

A child dedication is a commitment to raise and nurture a child in God's ways through teaching, example, discipline and prayer.  It's also a chance for the entire church community to promise to support and pray for a family. Dedications can be done during Sunday morning gatherings or in a private service with closest friends and family.

YOUTH MINISTRY

All of what we do with youth here at Forest Brook flows from those four ideals. We trust and hope that what we do here is transforming the lives of youth.  We also hope that with our presence in the community and in the lives of families that we are able to effectively reach and engage youth and truly challenge them to connect with one another and with God.

Tuesday Nights

Junior (Grades 7 & 8) and Senior (High School) small groups meet on Tuesday nights, at 6:45 pm, here at the church - these groups are the crux of what we do in our Youth Ministry. Each is led by faithful mentors who foster a spirit caring and sharing and offer a friendly atmosphere for teens toe explore and develop their relationship with God through lively discussion and prayer.

Fun Events

We want to share Jesus Christ with others, so we regularly host special events for Junior High and Senior High youth to provide them with the opportunity to invite their non-church friends to experience the fun that goes on at FBCC.  These events are either on a Tuesday night, in place of small groups, or on the weekend.

Retreats

Every Winter the FBCC youth chase away the winter blahs by escaping to Muskoka Bible Centre for a weekend of exciting activities, worship and spiritual refreshment.  This fully adult-supervised event begins on Friday night and ends Sunday afternoon.
